You can’t force yourself to like Broccoli!
Are you trying to fit your square sell into a round mold? Well, as you know that just doesn’t work. You have to come to the clear realization that you can’t force yourself into something that just doesn’t fit.
It’s like trying to squeeze yourself into a size 0 pants when you clearly know you have outgrown that size. “It’s fantasy world, trying to become a reality”
Today I want to take that philosophy and spread it across on how we think when it comes to our day to day activity in the workforce.
Take a look at what I got cooking for you…….
Certain jobs require a distinct personality. There is little point in pursuing a job in communications if you are not an extroverted person who loves to interact with people. If your soul burst with passionate creativity, you are not likely to be content with a job in Accounting.
Personalities are like shoe sizes. They are not subject to our choice or preference, but they can be occasionally fudged with uncomfortable consequences.
It is neither an accomplishment nor a fault to acknowledge that some people can speak before large audiences and be exhilarated by the experience while others would be petrified. Some people can study an equation for years and be fascinated by it, and others would long for human interaction and variety.
Realize who you are what your true personality is and choose a future that fits it.
I have a client who is a photographer. Hardly a day goes by without at least one of his clients refusing to work with him.
He has taken hundreds of children’s portraits, and he is well acquainted with all the tricks of the trade to make a baby smile. He is an expert in every funny face and noise imaginable.
When it’s over, everyone, the parents and the children are exhausted, but that’s usually a good sign.
“This is the feeling of knowing what your doing is right for you”
He has found that getting babies to flash there smiles wasn’t’ the only way to get a great picture and that a grumpy baby was just another source of inspiration. He told me that one time he was taking a picture of an Infant who literally wanted nothing to do with him. The baby would not look up and just stare at the floor. The photographer was able to get down on the floor with him and took the picture from the perspective he’d never used before and wound up with one of the best pictures he’d ever taken.
“You have to get down to the level of where your customers are and see it from their level”
-this is how they know you truly care!
The job requires two major traits. Not everyone can just hang out a shingle and call himself photographer. It’s all a matter of being patient and energetic and then capturing the moment.
Even as people experience the different phases of their lives including career and family changes, there underlying personality remains consistent after the age of 16.
You have to know that in order to become something great you have to sometimes change with the atmospheres around you in order to make it work.
98% find an excuse as to why it won’t work and 2% find a solution to the problem. The more problems you can solve the bigger the paycheck.
What you focus on is what you become good at.
What side of the coin are you on and what are you focusing your energy on today?
What mold will you choose to fit into?
Are you living out your true passion and desires or are you trying to fit into someone else shoes that just don’t quite fit your size?
As always I want to hear from you.
