Who is in your circle?
The Power of Influence
Who are you hanging around? Who’s in your inner circle?
One thing I can tell you is this. Who you have as your center of influence is who you become. If you hang out with people who are negative and always putting you down, run and run fast! Stop allowing people to be a dream stealer. You want so surround yourself with people who will push you towards your dreams and goals, those that will encourage you to become something great!
In today’s society, we are filled with a great deal of negative drama. The news on television, as well as on the radio broadcasts negativity daily. How do we escape it?
- Instead of listening to the radio, start listening to positive cds that will help guide you to your ultimate goal.
- Find someone who has what you want and learn from them. You only need one cheerleader encouraging you. (you can count me in as your one because I believe in you)
- Read books that will inspire you to push harder
- Surround yourself with leaders who only have positive things to say.
I don’t care whether you are in business for yourself, work for someone else, or are looking for employment; you MUST surround yourself with the right people that will help you get to where you want to go. Find someone that will help you draw your map that leads you to that one major goal that you have. I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again,” Everyone has a goal, but most have no idea how to get there.”
Here are your action steps for today. Write down the Directions of your Life:
If you were taking a complicated route out of town, you would write down the directions wouldn’t you?
But when considering the future path of your life, your goals, and what you need to do to achieve them, you probably wouldn’t write any of it down. Think of it- the most significant journey of your life, and you probably won’t put a word of the directions on paper.
Writing down your plans, goals and ideas makes them more real for you. Every step you take to define what you want and what you need to do to get it, increases the chances that you will actually pursue these goals and someday achieve them.
How do you want to be remembered – as someone who never gave up and strived very hard to achieve their goals and reached maximum success, or someone who just sat around making excuses every time an opportunity came their way? I don’t know about you, but I want to be the person that is looked upon as someone who perseveres. One that will never choose defeat, never throw in the towel and quit even when it’s hard. A champion is not measured by what he has accomplished, but by the opposition he has encountered and overcome.
I know that when people look at my name, “Courtney Taylor,” I want them to really recognize and know who and what I stand for. What characteristics, morals, values and beliefs do you want attached to your name? If you don’t have a map, a plan, a goal, or anything drawn out about whom you want to be in life and what direction you want to take, you’re going to remain wishing for things to happen. It doesn’t work like that. Faith without works is dead.
What I recommend is writing down your ultimate goal and then make baby steps getting there. Go to www.leancanvas .com. This is a site that helps you to create a plan to achieve your goals. I highly recommend this tool.
Make a commitment to yourself today that you are going to be the best person you can be and start living up to the expectations you’ve set for yourself. This way when others look at you, they can see something special within.
I look forward to hearing your amazing results. Never give up on yourself because the only person you would be letting down is YOU. You owe it to yourself to live the life you’ve been called to live. So what are you waiting for? Go live a life filled with the rewards you deserve!
With great blessings,
Coach Courtney
