Making Things Happen in 2013

visionHey friends,
I want to commend those of you who have been committed to working on your goals for the past year. I’ve seen many of you accomplish so much. I want to be able to help you continue to strive for success. I’m amazed at the obstacles and hurdles that you have been able to jump over. You truly looked defeat in the face and knew that you were going to win.
I don’t know if you noticed, but 2012 flew by faster then we could have imagined.  Looking over the year, do you feel you were you able to accomplish everything that you set out to do? If not, then we need to take a hard look at ourselves, our plan and our focus for 2013. Even if we reached some of our goals, we still want to strive harder, learn more, and do all that we can to better ourselves so that we can have the best results.
This time of year is when I sit down, and I plan out what I want the next 12 months of my life to look like. We can choose to live our life by design and not by default.  The reason we don’t get to where we want to be is that we fail to plan. It really is simple; all we have to do is draw what we want our lives to look like. We can sit down with a pile of excuses as to why we don’t plan, but if I were to ask you this question, how would you answer it and begin to design your life. “If you knew you couldn’t fail, and I helped equip you with all the skills to do whatever you wanted to do, what would you want to do? Take a moment and ponder that thought.
How different would your life truly look if you had the tools to equip you for success, knowing you couldn’t fail? What if you had a mentor to guide you along the way to show you how to live your life by design and not by default?
I have put together for you a step by step guide line of some questions I’d like for you to ponder  in putting together a game plan for 2013 and where you’d like to end up 12 months from now. Dream big until your dreams come true!

1.       I Thoughts- if you are anything like me. My mind goes nonstop all day long. So if you are on the go and thinking of your goals the I-phone makes it really simple to keep track of your goals with an app called mind mapping. This will help you to visually organize your thoughts, ideas and information. You can use this tool to brainstorm, track tasks, take notes on your progress and plan out your goals from start to finish. If you don’t have an i-phone, I’m sure there are similar apps out there that have the same functionalities.
2.       Let’s take a look back at what worked in 2012 to get us the results we have today. What did you make happen? What are you grateful for this year? It’s really easy to go back and look at the things that didn’t work out, but let’s take a moment to reflect on the positive. Focus on what went well first. Make your list right now of 3 things that you where able to accomplish and get results with. Celebrate what you want to see more of. I’m expecting at least 30 things- if not a lot more on my list for the coming year. Gratitude changes everything and will show you just how far you’ve come…  and it just might give you energy and hope to press into 2013 full force. Whatever you have been doing to help you get the results you’ve already gotten, don’t stop just continue to do it with more drive, focus and determination!
3.       Now look at what didn’t work. Honesty time! And before you do this step, remember not to beat yourself up here. You are brilliant, and I know you want to make 2013 your best year ever. The past is behind you. The old has gone; the new has come!  Just list some facts… What didn’t work well? What needs improvement?
-What fires you up? As a creative, visual person, imagery really lights my heart on fire. I need to see it to believe it. Once I can see my goal or dream it into a reality and really visualize it and get it into my gut, then I can outlive it.
– Write out everything that fires you up in life, at least 50 things and then get on Pinterest and get visual. Make Pinterest board of images that inspire for brilliant 2013! Title your board Making Things Happen in 2013 and share a link to your boards here. I would love to see them and be inspired by your boards. I’ll be sharing mine with you on my website.

That’s your homework until Friday when I will be sending out another newsletter with more tips, tools and ideas to help jump start your 2013!
Looking forward to another amazing year with you guys.
Coach Courtney
